Happy May 1st! Today is the opening day for the Wheels O’ Time Museum with the restored 1907 Hinners organ exhibit. It has been an exciting time working with both the museum staff and the folks from Buzard Organs who did such a great job restoring this beautiful example of Hinners’ artistry.
In celebration of this exhibit, the Peoria Chapter of the American Guild of Organists is presenting a member’s recital on Sunday, May 4th at 3:00pm. This will be the first time the public will be able to hear this wonderful instrument in its new home, nearby to where it was first constructed. The museum is open 12-5pm, for those who wish to come early or stay after to view the other wonderful exhibits in the museum. Museum admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors/veterans, and $5 for children.
We hope this opening recital is the first of many opportunities in partnership with the museum to highlight the history and artistry of organ building in our community. For more information about the museum, visit their website at www.wheelsotime.org.
