On Sunday May 4th at 3pm the Peoria Chapter of the American Guild of Organists will be presenting a Member’s Recital on the recently restored 1907 Hinners organ at the Wheels O’ Time Museum! We have been very excited over the past couple years to see this wonderful exhibit take shape and this recital will be a great opportunity to share the beauty of organ music to the museum guests during the opening weekend.

We would love to have as many organists as possible participate in the recital. If you or someone you know may be interested in participating, please email us at agopeoria@gmail.com. The Hinners organ is a modestly sized instrument (one manual and pedal, with 7 ranks of pipes); some of our “flashier” organ works may not be as successful on the instrument. However, there is still much versatility and beauty in the limited resources of the instrument. We have worked with the museum staff to ensure that participating organists will get some time to practice at the instrument.

Please email us by April 12th if you would like to play as part of this members recital. I will be contacting those participating with details about practice times.

Wishing you all a wonderful month ahead and hope to see you all at the museum in May!
