On Saturday, March 15th at 10am our members are invited to view the progress of the Hinners organ exhibit at the Wheels O’ Time Museum in Dunlap. The 1907 Hinners organ was relocated from a church in Wisconsin and Buzard Pipe Organ Builders has been busy working alongside volunteers to restore this beautiful instrument for the museum. The Hinners Organ factory operated in Pekin, IL during the first half of the 20th century creating many beautiful instruments, some of which are still regularly in use to this day. This new exhibit at the Wheels O’ Time Museum will highlight the artistry and engineering of organ building as well as celebrating the history of the greater Peoria area. We will be joined by members of the Rockford, AGO chapter as well as a representative from Buzard to view the progress of the restoration.

Also, mark your calendars for May 4th when we will be presenting a member’s recital to celebrate the new exhibit! This will coincide with the first weekend the museum is open to the public and will be a great opportunity for our local organists to share their talents and let the museum guests hear and see the organ in action. If you would like to join in performing, now is a great time to dust off any piece you may want to present (perhaps some fun ragtime music from the same time the organ was built?). More details about the recital will be forthcoming.

We hope to see you at the museum Saturday morning!
