The Summer Concert Series sponsored by the Peoria Chapter of American Guild of Organists will consist of two performances by a pair of local organists at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1420 W. Moss Avenue, in Peoria, Illinois. Both concerts will be free.

On August 7 at 7:30 p.m., Dr. Jon Giblin and Mr. Adam Gerik will kick off the series. Giblin’s performance will include “Animal Parade” by Iain Farrington, a contemporary British composer. Gerik’s portion will include selections from Dom Paul Benoit’s “60 Devotional Pieces for Organ on Modal Themes” as well as other selections by Alec Rowley, Healey Willan and others.

One week later, on August 14 at 7:30 p.m., Dr. John Orfe and Dr. Kipp Cortez will take over the console. Orfe’s portion of the concert will feature J. S. Bach’s Toccata & Fugue in F Major (BWV540),
plus selections by British composer C. H. H. Parry. Cortez’s program will include Toccata in F Major, BuxWV 157, by Buxtehude and Franck’s Choral 3 in A minor.

Following the August 14th concert, we invite the audience to stay for a reception at Westminster Presbyterian. Join us for both of these free concerts featuring our outstanding local organists!
